What you need to qualify
- Be a new, non-paying Notion customer
- Apply with a valid work email on your own company domain (no Gmail, Outlook or other free mail providers)
- Have not received any previous Notion promotion
- Have fewer than 100 employees
- 6 months free requires affiliation with one of Notion's select startup partners, and a code requested from that partner
- 3 months free requires a valid business website and a company domain email address
- 1 month free is what companies under 10 employees, SMBs and service businesses receive, and what a startup receives if it supplied incomplete business information

How to apply

Confirm you qualify
Check that your workspace is on a free plan, that you have not used a previous Notion promotion, that you have fewer than 100 employees, and that you can apply with a company domain email address rather than Gmail or Outlook.

Request a partner code
If your investor, accelerator or programme is one of Notion's select startup partners, ask them for the partner code before you apply. The code is what unlocks the 6 month tier instead of the 3 month one. If your investor is not on the list, Notion asks them to email startups@makenotion.com or fill out the partner application.

Fill out the startup application
Submit the form at notion.com/startups-apply with your company details, your public company website and the partner code if you have one.

Wait for the review
Notion asks applicants to allow up to 3 to 5 business days for a reply. A parked or broken website, personal social profiles instead of company pages, or a solo applicant results in the 1 month tier rather than a rejection.

Redeem the offer on a new Business plan
If approved, Notion emails to confirm the free Business plan has been applied to your workspace, and the upgrade takes effect right away. Existing paying customers are not refunded.
