How to apply

  1. 1

    Read the application preview first

Techstars publishes the full question list at techstars.com/application-preview. It states that it takes most teams anywhere from one to four hours to complete their application for the first time, so draft the answers before you open the form.

  2. 2

Fill in the Founder Profile section

The application opens with basic information about you: first name, last name, title, contact email, current location, Linkedin URL, phone number, and whether you are working on your startup full time.

  3. 3

    Complete the company section

Answer the company questions on the problem, the product, relevant industries, the team, traction, revenue and funding, how you make money, target audience, competitors, competitive advantage, why now, customer acquisition and next major milestones.

  4. 4

    Prepare three media uploads

One form field asks for a product demo video, a pitch deck, and a team introduction video. This is the step founders most often start late, because it needs assets recorded outside the form.

  5. 5

Choose Techstars Healthcare Accelerator powered by Permanente Medicine in Program Selection

Program Selection is an optional step in the form where you pick your preferred accelerators from those currently accepting applications. If this program is not in the list, its window is not open.

  6. 6

Submit through the Techstars apply portal

The Apply Today button on the program page goes to apply.techstars.com, which is where the application is submitted. Techstars notes you are able to update sections with new information as your company continues to develop.

  7. 7

Interview rounds and the screening committee

Techstars states you may receive an invitation to interview anytime between one and four weeks after the application deadline. First and second round interviews cover your competitive advantage and past accomplishments, then finalists meet a screening committee of the managing director and program manager, program mentors, corporate partners, other Techstars team members, alumni and subject matter experts virtually before a final decision.

Frequently asked

Founders building for healthcare delivery in a value-based care environment, matched to one of the six program themes, and prepared to work with the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group across Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland. Techstars says the best applicants pair deep insight into a structural healthcare problem with a team capable of executing against it.

The standard Techstars offer is $220,000: $200,000 through an uncapped MFN Safe and $20,000 through a post-money Convertible Equity Agreement that buys 5 percent common stock. Techstars states there is no fee to join. Total dilution is a minimum of 5 percent plus whatever the uncapped MFN Safe converts into, and the CEA converts when the company completes a priced round of at least $1 million.

Preview the questions at techstars.com/application-preview, then submit through apply.techstars.com and select this program in the Program Selection step. There is no fee to join a Techstars accelerator program, and companies complete incorporation checks before the cash is wired.

Techstars says you may receive an invitation to interview anytime between one and four weeks after the application deadline, and that it aims to review all applications within four weeks of applications closing and to notify every applicant. The accelerator itself is three months of intensive, mentorship-driven support and ends with a Demo Day.

Techstars prints the term timeline on the program page as Applications Open 02Mar, Final Deadline 10Jun, Accelerator Starts 08Sep and Demo Day 10Dec, without a year. The cycle whose accelerator starts on 08 September is the 2026 one, so its 10 June deadline has already passed and the next window has not been published with a year. Check the program page and the Program Selection step of the form, which only lists accelerators currently accepting applications.

The Managing Director is Keith Camhi. The anchor partner is the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, an organization of 1,800 physicians across more than 60 medical specialties.
