What you need to qualify
- Early stage, venture backable company based in Alabama. Each local programme sets its own catchment, for example gBETA Huntsville looks for companies in North Alabama, especially Huntsville and Madison County.
- Able to commit to at least 85% of programming, roughly 5 to 7 hours weekly.
- Prepared to discuss the business openly with mentors and investors, and either selling or ready to scale sales.
- Coachable and open to feedback.
- Not a fit for brick and mortar stores, service businesses or nonprofits.

The Alabama page lists free seven week accelerators in Huntsville (gBETA Huntsville and SPARK Huntsville), Birmingham (gBETA Prosper), Mobile (gBETA Gulf Coast), Tuscaloosa (gBETA Innovate UA) and Dothan (the Alabama Forestry Accelerator), plus the four week gALPHA earth in Sylacauga. Apply to the individual programme whose city and focus fit you.
No. gBETA Huntsville states that "Thanks to our program partners, gBETA is at no cost to the five companies selected to participate in each cohort", and the programmes take no equity.
The Alabama page lists three twelve week investment accelerators: the Prosper HealthTech Accelerator in Birmingham at $90K for 5% equity, the Bronze Valley Accelerator in Birmingham at $100K for 5% on a SAFE and open to female entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs of colour, and the HudsonAlpha AgTech Accelerator in Huntsville at $100K for 7.5% equity.
The free programmes run seven weeks. You complete an online application, the programme director invites selected applicants to one or two interview rounds where you deliver a prepared pitch, and gener8tor then notifies you of the decision; selected companies sign a participation agreement.
The Alabama page publishes no dates, and as of 18 August 2026 gBETA Huntsville states "We are not currently accepting applications for this program" with the deadline, kickoff and end dates all TBD. Check the individual programme page for the next window.
