How to apply

  1. 1

Work out which stream you are in

Foresight sorts its programmes by technology readiness level: Ideation at TRL 1 to 4, Commercialization at TRL 4 to 9, Scale at TRL 9, plus Capital Support for ventures preparing to fundraise. You do not have to pick a single programme up front, because the intake call does that for you.

  2. 2

    Submit the application form

Canadian ventures use the program application at foresightcac.com/program-application. Ventures based outside Canada use the international venture support route instead. There is a single form for the core programmes rather than one per programme.

  3. 3

    Take the introduction call

Foresight states: "Once completed, a member of our team will schedule an introduction call to determine which of our programs will be the best fit for you."

  4. 4

Pay the enrolment fee for the programme you join

Subsidised Canadian fees start at $225 for Kickstart and $675 for Launch and Deliver, with Grow at $550 per month, and sector support and elective programmes free. Ottawa-based ventures may qualify for an Invest Ottawa scholarship that covers the fee.

Cleantech ventures at almost any maturity, sorted by technology readiness level: Ideation at TRL 1 to 4, Commercialization at TRL 4 to 9, Scale at TRL 9, and sectoral roundtables at TRL 3 and above. Canadian and international ventures both have a route in, through different application forms.

Foresight charges enrolment fees rather than taking equity. Subsidised Canadian pricing is $225 for Kickstart, $675 for Launch and Deliver and $550 per month for Grow, with sector support and elective programmes free. Unsubsidised pricing runs $5,000 for Kickstart, $6,500 each for Launch and Deliver, $3,500 for specialised programmes and $1,500 per month or $20,000 per year for Grow and ad-hoc support. Programmes are advertised as starting at $100 per month.

A member of the Foresight team schedules an introduction call to work out which programme fits you, so the form is a first contact rather than a decision point.

Concept validation, customer discovery, positioning and fundraising fundamentals at the Ideation stage; market entry, technology roadmaps, peer forums, governance, pilots and export market development at the Commercialization stage; upskilling, coaching and fractional executive support at the Scale stage; and investment readiness, capital strategy and the Foresight 50 ranking on the capital side. The Governance and Export programmes are four weeks each.
