What you need to qualify
- Tech-driven and scalable: a software-based business solving a compelling problem.
- Revenue-generating: seed stage with monthly recurring revenue.
- Growth goals: raising the next funding round, scaling sales processes, or entering new markets.
- Team size: at least one full-time founder and an in-house technical lead.
- Venture-backable: positioned for funding in a high-growth market.
- Commitment: available 5 to 6 hours per month to reap the programme benefits.
- Location: DMZ accepts global founders, and travel is required for in-person pitch events. The programme runs from DMZ Toronto with a virtual option.

Submit the application in the DMZ portal
Applications go through mydmz.torontomu.ca/portal/apply. They are accepted year-round, but formal onboarding happens twice a year, in the fall and the spring, so the intake you land in depends on when you apply.

Take the screening call
Selected applicants are invited to a screening call with the DMZ team.

Go through deep-dive sessions and due diligence
Applicants who pass screening advance to deep-dive sessions and due diligence interviews.

Receive and accept the offer
Successful candidates receive a formal offer. DMZ takes a 2.5% equity stake in common shares, charges no fees and takes no board seat.
